So Different


There is no immediate difference on this side of the border. I'm not exactly sure what we were expecting.


Looks like we're in Nebraska today.


It's actually a bit surreal, because you have to force yourself to remember that you're in another country and that there's a different language. Even the roadsigns just kind of fade into the background and you just accept them.


While Adam drives, I Google some basic Czech so we can be prepared. We arrive at the outskirts of Plzen and I hit a bathroom at a service station which had to be one of the nicer service station bathrooms I've seen, although the person at the register seemed extremely disinterested in my attempts at speaking Czech.


Given my mixed success at German, I am pleased to find that I actually remember a decent amount of Czech, especially considering that I was not in good shape the last time I was here.
