Reflection

Fortunately for us, there is a very convenient plaque with English, explaining the conception and construction of the wall, including pictures of tanks rolling through the Brandenburg Gate, which very much helps to put all this in perspective. The tone of the wording is very balanced, and there's no attempt to paint the soldiers of the eastern "people's army" as bad guys.

All of this happens to be right next to a very big, nice park. We wonder if there are water vendors inside, like in Central Park. We're thirsty.
