I Feel the Need
We get in the car and realize that this is really the first that we've had a chance to talk together about what we're going to do for the next few days.
Tim needs to catch a flight home from Frankfurt tomorrow morning, so we're going to Dusseldorf tonight to visit our friend (and former co-worker) Jens. Tim and Adam booked us a hotel room (yay, points) for the night while I was working yesterday so at least that's settled.
We know that we'll drive to Frankfurt in the morning, and that we're flying back from Berlin (I've already booked a room) on Tuesday morning, but other than that, there's no plans. This should be fun.
On the way out of town, we see a woman walking a dachshund. I wonder if that would be a wienerhund in German. Then I realize it would translate as "Viennese dog". We think that "sausage dog" or "wursthund" would be more appropriate. That leads to a few minutes spent saying "Allo, wursthund", and "wer hat einen guten wursthund? (who's a good sausage dog)". Maybe we're a bit punchy from the last few days.
Adam was very happy to be going this fast. The car topped out at 220, but that was fine. We also notice that we go through gas very quickly at this speed, and that it costs about $90 USD to fill the tank. Yeah, maybe we should be going slower.
