Facing East

One interesting thing on that plaque we read earlier was that it had Reagan's quote as "Mr. Gorbachev, open this gate!", instead of the more commonly seen "tear down this wall" quote that followed.

I wonder if that's just because we were at the gate.

I thought the same thing, but Reagan's entire quote was:

"General Secretary Gorbachev, if you seek peace, if you seek prosperity for the Soviet Union and Eastern Europe, if you seek liberalization, come here to this gate. Mr. Gorbachev, open this gate. Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall!"

Yeah, I had to wiki it as well to see what the deal was. To clarify what I meant in the post, you typically hear the "tear down this wall" portion of the quote, and I wonder if they used the gate part of the quote instead because we were at the gate.
