Stomp the Ground
At the bus station, we get our tickets and head over to Starbucks for some breakfast before we board. I want to try their new "Pike Place" roast, which they've strategically launched to get them more in competition with the Dunkin Donuts/McDonalds coffee that has been challenging them. It's a medium roast, so what's interesting is that this Starbucks doesn't have a dark roast on tap, just the Pike and a decaf. Also, they're out of Pike Place. They offer me an Americano instead and it's actually pretty good. I've never been a big americano fan, but I'm warming up to it.
Once again, the hoodie saves the day on the bus ride, and I wake up as we pull into Port Authority. I'm going to drop my stuff off at S's place in Brooklyn and then head back to chill with T in the city. My brother and I head downtown to grab a quick bite to eat at Otafuku, because I am craving takoyaki. Craving like a mofo.
This place is actually right next to an old hangout called Cloister Cafe, which has a great outdoor space that we used to go to in nice weather and feel like we weren't even in the city at all.
Now they have hookahs. The food there was never that great, so I wonder if the hookahs mean they're just not even trying anymore.
