Later But Not Late
Some days I work late and the bus ride home is a solitary one. By late of course, I mean like 6:30.
I know that this kind of schedule isn't permanent and that I will eventually get projects that require a more heavy-duty time committment, but I'm hoping that I can keep this balance of work and life that I've got going on right now.
My job now has less responsibility that my last one did, and it makes for much less stress and worry. I have to admit though, that it's often a bit boring and frustrating to not be "in charge" of anything. I like driving projects and relationships and feeling like I'm contributing to the overall strategy of the company/account, so I've asked my manager to start building towards that with me. I'm sure it will add to my workload and start eating away at the "professional detachment" I've been enjoying, but I can't just sit behind the scenes for much longer.
So much for chilling with some lack of responsibility, but there you have it.
