A Stop
I try not to work too much, but I do spend some time on the ride just answering emails and making some calls. It's worth it if I can get everything cleared out before the festivities get going. Fortunately, I eventually lose reception and close down shop.
Almost there, we stop to fill up at this old station with an antique-looking pump.
The place is little more than a shack, but they have some tasty jerky. Honestly, what's the point of a road trip without jerky. Jerky is one of the main reasons I stopped being a vegetarian all those years ago. I really need to make the stuff myself. One of the guys from work did Alton's recipe for it a few years back and it was delicious. I just need to get myself some cellulose filters and bungee cords.
The Mannings are bringing all the milk and ice cream for the weekend, so we're toting a small u-haul.
