Transportation

We got to JFK early, but there had been a huge storm, so we had to circle for an hour while they landed all the planes that had been waiting for the weather to clear. I'd hoped to be at work by 9, but I was waiting for the AirTrain at 9:18.

As I left the gate, some of the plane area workers were outside, playing handball. It looked fun. I miss handball.

The transition to the subway was easy, but they announced that the A would run local. Midway through the run, we were told we were stopping for a bit. I was falling asleep on my bag, so I barely paid attention. It was 11:00 by the time we got to Fulton St. in Manahattan.

I tried to transfer to the 4/5 downtown, but they seemed to be skipping the Manahattan stops. I decided to walk to the office instead, and people asked me if the trains were running as I left the subway. Apparently, the subway system had been almost shut down by the flooding. Most of the office didn't even make it in.

That bottom picture is supposed to be the "lake" I walked through to get to the 4/5.
