Spot Hit

T was quite possibly less awake than I was, and we hit the diner. A few cups of coffee, OJ, 2 eggs, bacon, Homefries, and wheat toast was exactly what the rainy morning called for.

The diner atmosphere cheered me up immensely from the inside. I don't know if any of you have the relationship that I do with diners, but a diner is a big blanket. It's not just comfort food, but comfort space. No one called me "hon", which was ok considering we had a guy waiter, but other than that it was what I needed.

The rain was still coming down and the subway was far, so we hopped a cab to the office, where the internet was down.

When things were less hectic, I looked forward to grey, partially internetless days at the office. There was coffee and camraderie and desk lamps.

I guess that's a lot of work posts recently. I'll try to cut back on that.
