Throngs

We found an empty patch of promenade to chill in and just watched all the people. Just out of frame to the right are a set of steps leading down to the river. Everyone is talking and drinking, and there's street performers juggling fire and the like.

A dude comes up to us and says a lot in German. We tell him we don't speak it and he relies "Do you have money?" We say no. He goes over to some other people, all wearing the same shirts, and they move on to other groups of people. We're confused, but we like that when he had to speak English, he cut right to the point.

One of the most interesting things to me is that everyone drinks beer, even the girls. I'm much more used to seeing wine and mixed drinks in girls' hands, but there's none of that here. The closest thing to it is that some of the girls drink "Beck's Lemon" which is beer and lemonade, or a shandy, if you're British.
