Repairs

Upon closer inspection, there is much patchwork and repair visible on the walls.

There is also still a definite need for repair.

I wonder how these places continue to operate and then I remember the high cost of entry to see this place. I've been to several synagogues and other Jewish sites and I can't shake the feeling that in another generation there won't be enough interest, and hence enough tourist dollars to maintain these places.

Unlike the churches, which still serve congregations, there isn't much of a Jewish presence here to keep these places alive.

I remember visiting a synagogue and cemetary in Krakow's Jewish Quarter, which is practically a museum, and thinking that there would be no one left to run the place in a few years.
