Adam and I knew that Berlin had a pretty expensive mass transit system. We wandered up into one of the stations to get a feel for it, and it was pretty easy to sort out, since the ticket machines had English menus.
We felt like walking though, but thought we might come back and use the trains later. We also wondered why NYC doesn't have all the languages available at all the MetroCard kiosks? How hard can it be to get all the same options on each machine? The touristy areas have them, but why are the languages available so regionalized in NYC?
We leave the station and after this underpass decide to walk along the river to the Reichstag. We don't want to do anything in particular except get to Checkpoint Charlie at some point, but since that is right by our hotel, we figure we'll do that at the end of the day. So now, the Reichstag seems as good a direction to wander in as any.
