Not On Fire
This being Seattle and all, there is a need to guard against rain.
The roof is on rails, and can be rolled over the stadium as needed. It is enough to protect from the rain, but it doesn't completely enclose the field, so there is still air and some light.
We didn't get to see this, since it was a beautiful day out, but it is just a really cool setup.
Also, the freight trains run under the roof as you see it here, since the rails are right up against the back of the stadium. I love that when you watch the games, there are these frequent very loud blasts of train horns. I wonder if it throws off the visiting team.
That bottom shot is M's, in case anyone was wondering.
